2.0 free from 5 stars Slim and beautiful but sub-par picture quality, April 17, 2010
This review is from: Samsung UN32C4000 32-Inch 720p 60 Hz LED HDTV (Black) (Electronics)
I were tinkering with a completely new Samsung UN32C4000 for any week now and also following offers the outcomes of my findings.

1)Basic Features
This monitor is definitely the cheapest 32″ LED that can be found. The resolution is restricted to 720p that’s perfectly fine for a TV of size.
The UN32C4000 is well equipped as far as input (4 HDMI 1.3 ports, 1 USB, 1 component input, 1 optical sound input and 1 PC input).
The HDMI input are situated for the left side with the monitors. IMO, the inputs are so close of your bezel to make certain that my HDMI cables are visible in the side. HDMI angle cables might possibly be more fitted to slim monitors exactly like it.
Edge-lit LCDs are notable for having uniformity issues but my unit displays was fine in this field.
Backlight bleeding is minor and will not be a huge concern on many.
Black level displayed by this monitor proves to be significantly moreso than my A couple of years old Samsung LN32A450.
However, watching the Dark Knight movie had been a bit painful to my trained eyes. This tv seriously isn’t fitted for movie watching resulting from absence of details in shadows.
The OSD is well designed and definitely makes the calibration a bit easier than the LN32A450.
I really want to suggest that TV is certainly beautiful due its ultra slim design additionally , the familiar Touch of Color Design.

2) Advanced Features
Calibration was over with he help of one’s Enhanced Chroma 5 meter (LED compliant). Unfortunately, final results are disappointing.
a) RGB Color Balance (GreyScale)
Calibration was over by modifying the white balance adjustments (RGB-Offset and RGB-Gain). The white point target is a usual 6500 as based on HD Rec709.
While the 20%-100% stimulus are great, the 10% stimulus is excessively blue (Color temperature (CT) of 8900!). All DeltaE errors are below 3 as well as the average CT is 6685 (6450 if 10% stimulus is ignored).
b) Gamut
I discovered the fact that TV haven’t CMS control. This is usually a big disappointment given that user manual clearly specifies a custom color space comes available (p.16) but it is NOT there around the OSD. Thus, We were only willing to modify the gamut by adjusting the clumsy Color setting. Fortunately, the actual result is satisfying considering that the delta errors are below 5 for everyone primaries and secondaries.
c) Gamma (Target of 2.2)
Let me be clear here, the gamma curve is awful. Gamma is stable amongst the 10% to 50% stimulus but drops straight into the abyss between 60% and 90%. Adjusting the gamma control uniformly shifts gamma over everything stimulus and solve the instability issue. Nothing can be accomplished here since there is no 10 points gamma adjustments including the UN32C6500 (heightened) model.

3) Summary
I located out where the picture of one’s UN32C4000 is inferior to its Couple of years old predecessor, the LN32A450.
While the slim design would be missed, In order to exchange this TV with the cheaper and hopefully better Samsung LN32C450.

4) Calibration Settings for optimal picture
